Not when he spent a good percentage of his life learning martial arts, which are not only physical but spiritual.

Not when his appreciation from high end brands came not from vanity but  from the struggles of hard work.

Not when he learnt sign language for his friend.

Not when he took care of Chen and Xiumin in China. 

Not when, contrary to the expectations of quiet humble idol stars, he bluntly shouldered on against his own antis. 

Not when, despite low-key homophobic comments against him and his relationship with Kris, he still keep being really close to him.

Not when he didn’t say anything about SM not promoting his solo activities.

Not when SM never supported him or did anything about the staggering amount of hate he got even before Kris left.

Not when he shielded Sehun because Tao’s own antis decided to give him a hard time in Weibo.

Not when he got a lot of shit since debut for stuff he didn’t do and he still marched on.

Not when he cried when for the first time he got open support from a fan telling him Hailang would be forever with him, in whatever path he took. 

Not when, even after suffering from injuries SINCE DEBUT, he still pushed himself, out of his own free will and his own hot blooded persistence and passion, to give EXO fans the best performance he could give. 

Apparently he showed his true character when he didn’t uphold your expectations and got out of a bad situation, from a group where he would always be buried, in a company that didn’t look for his best interests. 

Tao showed his true character when he realised he just didn’t give a fuck anymore, and he didn’t owe anything to the people that never backed him up, that never gave a sign of acknowledgment to the onslaught of outside attacks he was getting. Tao showed his true character the moment he wasn’t gaining anything in EXO, in SM. 

Tao doesn’t show his true character via the praise he gets from staff and work mates. Tao shows his true character via a song people will interpret to their convenience, in a situation they will also interpret to their convenience. 

Tao is nothing but “that hypocritical drama queen that fakes his tears”. 

The fact that this post has so few notes, when it deserves all the awards, while that immensely, unbelievably, and truly stupid anti post has thousands speaks wonders. It shows how little those fans actually cared about him as a human being instead of an overshadowed pawn in a boy group, who they didn’t even pay attention to begin with. He doesn’t deserve that and I’m glad there are people who have sense.
